BRAZIL: ANATEL Issues Act 4776 Regarding Updates on Act 14.448 for 5 GHz, Vehicle Radar, and More

ANATEL issued on September 1st, 2020, the Act 4776, and they bring the Technical Standard Update for the following technologies/types:

-ELECTROMAGNETIC FIELD VARIATION SENSOR, especially for the band of 76-81 GHz
-BROADBAND WIRELESS ACCESS SYSTEM FOR LOCAL NETWORKS, for the band of 5.150-5.350 MHz and 5.470-5.725 MHz
-VEHICLE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM (or SCV) for 5.850-5.925 MHz
-WIRELESS MULTIGIGABIT SYSTEM for 57-71 GHz
-SHARING ACCESS SYSTEM TO MEDIA for frequency bands of 5.150-5.350 MHz, 5.470-5.725 MHz, and 5.725-5.850 MHz – this is Equipment Based on Sharing Protocol, LBE, or FBE types
-VEHICLE RADARS, operating on 22-29 GHz

In addition to these updates, new Electromagnetic Field Variation Sensors and Radars, operating on the bands of 46,7-46,9 GHz are not allowed to operate in Brazil after the publication of this act. Old ones operating in Brazil can operate until its lifetime. The manufacture, import, sales, and installation of vehicle radars that
operates on bands of both 22-29 GHz and 46,7-46,9 GHz will be not allowed after January 1st, 2022.
