During April 24th, 2019, the Directorate General of Post and Informatics (SDPPI) of Indonesia published regulation “KEPDIRJEN POSTEL No. 138 Year 2019″ regarding international test lab recognition for tablets, cellular phones, and handheld computers.
Four key items were covered:
1. Applicants who apply for SDPPI certification for cellular phones, handheld computer, and tablet products, does not require local testing, however, they must test from a recognized international laboratory from the list found in the official source.
2. Test report from the laboratories in the list can be used to do paperwork application for handheld computer, cellular phone, and tablets.
3. international Laboratories recognition in this regulation is done based on criteria:
a. The laboratory has the capacity to do testing on telecommunication device based on the technical requirement stated by Indonesia.
b. Has laboratory accreditation certificate based on ISO/IEC 17025; and
c. Registered as a member of the Global Certification Forum (GCF) an/or Cellular Telecommunication and Internet Association (CTIA).
4. Starting from the date of application, April 15, 2019, This policy is valid for 6 months.
