On September 26th, 2022, the DRAFT of the Official Mexican Standard PROY-NOM-024-SE-2022, Commercial information for packaging, instructions, and guarantees for electronic, electrical, and home appliance products (will cancel NOM-024-SCFI-2013, published on August 12th, 2013) It means that there is a period to send comments related to the content of this DRAFT and the deadline to send the comments ends this October 26th.
This standard replaces the NOM-024-SCFI-2013, and the changes that stand out are that this version does include an “exception section” that clarifies that the products that are not intended for a point of
sale do not need to comply with the standard. Another interesting change included is the conformity assessment procedure, which guarantees, for example, that the requirements, the conditions for family grouping, and the delivery times requested and offered by the Verification Units (VU) are the same for all applicants in all accredited VU. Finally, appendices A and B are added, in the first one the information for the labeling of REBUILT, RECONDITIONED, SECOND LINE, OUT OF SPECIFICATIONS, REMANUFACTURED, USED OR SECOND-HAND PRODUCTS is established, and in Appendix B, the DIMENSIONS OF THE COMMERCIAL INFORMATION LABEL are specified.
