On January 31, 2018, the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) of New Zealand published on the official gazette a notice prohibiting the supply and offer for supply of 22 – 26 GHz vehicular short-range radar parts and equipment in New Zealand (excluding devices operating in the narrow band 24.000 – 24.250 GHz narrow band radar equipment). According to MBIE, the interpretation of Vehicular short-range radar devices is as follow: the radio apparatus described in the schedule to this notice and includes apparatus whether sold on its own or as a component of a motor vehicle.
This notice came into effect on February 1, 2018.
