On January 2nd, 2025, SDPPI announced the expiration of Decree 109 of 2024 concerning the determination of Foreign Test Labs for the purpose of certification of Telecommunication equipment in Indonesia.
Manufacturers must consider the following conditions for their upcoming SDPPI applications, considering the accredited labs under Decree 109 of 2024:
- Reports issued from January 1st, 2025 onwards, cannot be used for the certification process until the foreign labs are reaccredited based on the latest regulation.
- Reports issued before January 1st, 2025, can still be used for application for the next 6 months.
SDPPI has not launched yet the new regulation for Foreign Test Laboratories. With the current regulation being expired, there is uncertainty in terms of timeline of when the new release will be in place.
In the meantime, manufacturers must plan their compliance strategy based on the available test reports or proceed with local testing.
