TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO: Telecommunications Authority Request For Comments On Consultative Regulations Documents

The Regulator is inviting  the stakeholders for comments on Consultative Documents, consistent with the provisions of the Telecommunications Act, Ch 47: 31 of the Laws of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, on the following Regulations, on/or, before Monday May 4th 2015, in accordance with the Authority’s Public Consultation Comment Submission Form:

1) Proposed Recommendations for Telecommunications (Radio Spectrum) Regulations 2015.

2) Draft of the Telecommunications -Quality of Service Regulations, 2015.  This seeks to provide the general overarching framework that would safeguard the interests of consumers in the telecommunications and broadcasting sectors and ensure the consumers rights.

 

It should be noted that the Telecommunications Act is currently being amended to ensure compliance with the Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA), now in force by Act No. 9 of 2013.

Following consultation and amendments (where appropriate) the Regulations will be submitted to the Minister for approval, and promulgation by negative resolution of Parliament in accordance with section 78 of the Act.
